Saddle Sore

Today my middle daughter had a girl scout event. Her troop is closing so they needed to have a last spend-the-remaining-money spree. They had voted to go to a dog-sledding place near Deep Creek Md. The woman in charge said that it was too warm for the dogs so the event was cancelled. We all think that she just didn't want to do it because it wasn't that warm with a day high of only in the 70's. We were going to be there at 9:00 am and it definitely wasn't too warm at that time. Oh well, what should we do instead?

It was decide that we would go horseback riding, go to Cici's Pizza for lunch and then to the Wave pool at South Park. For horseback riding we went to Rolling Hills Ranch. We first had to sign a waiver. I am not really sure what for exactly but if you want to ride you sign, so we did. We were then asked if we were going to wear helmets, to which the girls in one loud voice in unison said "NO". Then we signed another waiver for denying the helmets. If we fell and broke our heads it was so totally not their faults. Then we were given our horses. Mine was named "Lumpy".
Lumpy liked to be at the front of the pack. So even though we started off near the back we were at the front almost as soon as we passed through the gate. The ride was for about an hour on a path through fields and woods. It was really scenic and a lot of fun.

Cici's was okay. I then picked up my youngest daughter and met the rest of the group at the Wave pool. The water was very cold so I pretty much just waded. The troop had some money left so each girl was given $5.00 for snacks. The line was ridiculously long and the snack shack was so poorly run that I had a hard time holding my tongue.
Who runs this place anyway? The Industrial Engineer in me was planning out at least 10 changes that they could make to help the situation. Arrgh, Is there no commonsense?

When we got home I needed and took a nap. When I woke up I sat on the edge of the bed to put on my sandals and ouch, my but was really sore. I now can fully appreciate the concept of being saddle-sore.
